The Course Pathway Edit facility is an advanced feature. Please first ensure you are familiar with how the Spelling Ability Test and Course Pathways operate before editing Course Pathways.
What is a Course Pathway?
A Course Pathway is generated when a student completes the Spelling Ability Test. A Course Pathway consists of a number of Spellzone units. If the Course Pathway is turned ON the student will be asked to complete each unit within their Course Pathway.
How can I view the Course Pathway Edit facility?
On the students Course Pathway page click on the edit button (pen icon) near the top of the page. This will open the Course Pathways page. Here you can see all current and previous pathways for this student.
How do I select a different Course Pathway?
Click on the ON/OFF icons on any Course Pathway to select it. Spellzone templates are also available allowing you to assign a student a pre-set pathway.
How can I edit an existing Course Pathway?
Click on the edit button (pen icon) against any pathway you wish to edit. Pathways generated by the Spelling Ability Test or Spellzone Templates will automatically create a copy when you edit it.
How can I create a new Course Pathway?
Use the + symbol at the top of the page to create a new pathway.
How can I set a pathway if the student has not yet taken the Spelling Ability Test?
Go to the Course Pathways page (from the student Course Pathway page) and either select a Pathway template or create a new pathway.
How do you determine if a student has completed a unit of a Course Pathway?
Spellzone determines if the student completed the unit since the pathway was created or in the case of template, when it was enabled. If editing a pathway created by the Spelling Ability Test then this date will be carried over from the original pathway. If you wish to restart the student at the beginning of a pathway you should create a new pathway using the + icon.
