Who can use the Tuition Reward Points? You can earn them for your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and others.
How does the program work?
When you create and save a funeral plan on Funeralwise.com you will be eligible for the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program. With your approval, we will enroll you in Tuition Rewards and you will automatically receive your first 500 Reward Points – a $500 value. Think of Tuition Reward Points as Higher Education Frequent Flyer Miles where 1 point = $1 of college tuition discount from member colleges.
Tuition Rewards are discounts off of tuition at participating private colleges and universities. The Tuition Rewards Points represent the minimum scholarship that an eligible student will receive if and when he or she attends a member school. Schools may count Tuition Rewards as part of their normal institutional aid. For example, if a family redeems 30,000 Tuition Rewards Points for a student, the student is guaranteed to receive a minimum of $30,000* in financial aid (scholarships or institutional grants), spread equally over four years of undergraduate education. He or she may receive more, but is guaranteed not to receive less.
After your initial $500 of Tuition Rewards points are awarded, you will have the opportunity to earn more points as described below.
How do you earn more reward points?
You will earn more points by putting a qualifying financial plan in place. It starts with completing a funeral plan to get your estimated funeral cost and final expenses. Using these cost estimates, you can formulate a financial plan to cover them. Your financial plan must include purchasing a permanent life insurance policy from a Funeralwise authorized advisor. You will then earn additional points for the insurance premium dollars you invest over the life of the policy. You can earn up to a total of 53,000 points or 1 year’s tuition per student. Your Funeralwise advisor can assist you with your planning and will be able to give you all the details of how the points accumulate.
What does it cost to participate?
There is no cost to participate in the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program. It’s a benefit offered to qualifying members of the Funeralwise community as described above. You have nothing to lose and much to gain by participating. Learn more about SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards.
