In the funeral home’s online obituary for the individual, they did note the deceased wanted donations sent to our organization, but the PO Box is incorrect. How do we tactfully approach the funeral home to correct this so we don’t look tacky. I am sure people making donations don’t want to have to send a second check.

Thank you-
Katie Dukeshire

Definitely call the funeral home right away – most likely, this is a typo that they are not aware of yet. Tell them who you are and that you noticed the wrong PO Box number was listed (this is a very quick and easy fix for an online obituary) and give them the correct number.

There is nothing tacky about requesting the correction – neither you nor the funeral home want people sending checks to the wrong address.
